I’m on a mission to bring exploration into your classroom.

The Explore in School (EiS) Initiative aims to bring the vitality and aliveness of nature into your school. I have my boots on the ground photographing remote regions and transformative experiences in Canada and now I want to bring my stories and adventures into your classroom!

In May of 2018 I had the opportunity to speak in front of a bright, wide-eyed group of students at the Calgary Arts Academy and I was overwhelmed by the positive response from the 150 students in the gymnasium, as well as the school faculty and staff. This led me to create & kick-off a youth initiative called ‘Explore in School’ in January 2019.

“Thank You Dax! For visiting our K to 3 campus and sharing a bit of what you do, who you are, and your polar bear experience. For many of the kids this was a top presentation of the year and all of them loved it! I hope to have you come and share with our 4 to 9 campus next school year!”

— Laura Bicknell, Calgary Arts Academy

“The kids LOVED your story telling, information about Polar Bears, and photos. Our staff was so impressed with your ability to keep the attention and engagement of a young audience, as well with your ability to captivate an audience with your stories! We appreciate your time and efforts in coming to our school!”

— Chelsie Malinowski, Calgary Arts Academy

I’d love to come to your school or educational institution and give my youth presentation about what it’s like to walk with polar bears on the frozen tundra in Churchill, Manitoba while on assignment for Canadian Geographic.
