Creating a custom brand display typeface for KMC Wheels. Type design isn’t illustration, it’s designing a graphic system. A typeface is a set of letters, numbers, and symbols (glyphs), and even though every glyph is unique, they share the same shapes, rules, and patterns to stay visually consistent. The scope of this project was to create a complete font for KMC Wheels, based off the existing lettering in the KMC Wheels logo. We created a custom display typeface with two font variations called “KMC Display Solid” and “KMC Display Outline.”
